This is one of those chairs that often gets advertised as ‘Lloyd Loom style’! It’s actual providence is just as interesting as Lloyd Loom. This appears to be ‘Sirrom Colurtex’ by Morris, Wilkinson & Co (Notts) that was a company established in 1889. They were the manufacturers of the beautiful woven perambulators (prams) as well as woven furniture and baskets etc. The last mention I can find of the company is in 1954 when they were taken to court by W. Lusty & Sons Ltd who were the British franchise for Lloyd Loom. History lesson over! I have removed the old painted finish on the legs to expose the natural wood which has been coated with White Bunny Naturals Wax. The weave has been painted with Fusion Mineral Paint. The seat has new foam and upholstered with Ikea ‘Filodendron’ fabric.
